HISTORY:
The Aheri-Jumbagi dam is built across the river Aheri-Jumbagi flowing through the Krishna basin in Southern India. The dam is located near the historic city of Bijapur in Karnataka. The dam serves the purpose of irrigation for the surrounding areas.
The dam was constructed in the year 1989. Since then it has been acting as a useful reservoir of the area. The Aheri-Jumbagi dam has a length of 1018 meters. The height of the dam is 10.59 meters above the foundation. The gross storage capacity of the dam is 1.799 mcm and the live storage capacity is 1.50191 mcm. The volume content of the dam is 98,040 cubic meter.
